Defending The Underdog

Updated: Aug 17

With a final glance at the wreckage behind him, Tacko Rinn pushed the throttle of his battle wrecked space fighter forward and followed Drake Vance's Black Mongoose into the unknown. It was a beginning, a chance meeting in the void that would soon turn into an alliance and friendship that would shape the galaxy.

After crashing through an unstable wormhole, they both found themselves deep in the Neutral Dust Sectors far from law patrols or rules. They drank and laughed in the aftermath of near-death both agreeing that the galaxy was full of tyranny, corruption and endless exploitation of the powerless. They also agreed that hardly anyone was doing enough to defend the people, So both felt that maybe, they should.

So there it was, The Zone Warriors ideal was formed,

a misfit militia with only three principles:

One, defend the underdog through a crew that would make chaos sacred and justice unavoidable. Two, always mock the elite, and Three? Never, not ever apologize for just how loud those explosions would be.

While many would eventually join their cause, the founding crew included five other hand-picked individuals, each as peculiar and dangerous as the founders.

Brakka Nine

Heavy Attack and Ship Boarding Specialist, A towering ex-prisoner from the frozen mining pits of Keldron-Kass.

Yilsa Krell

Tech Infiltrator and Neural Disruptor Hacker. Bug Delos – Reconnaissance and Bio-Digital Surveillance.

Keelo Marr

Pilot of the Carveta AT-V and Combat Driver Extraordinaire.

Ress Vorn

Ship Systems Engineer and Fusion Coresmith.

They were foul-mouthed, reckless, and habitually insubordinate. But they never fought for conquest, only to protect. They burned pirate fleets, sabotaged dominion factories, and defended backwater colonies no one remembered. They wore no medals. They made no speeches. But when the underdog screamed?

Well, when a mining out post was threatened by mercenaries, The Zone Warriors retaliated by launching an airdrop of explosive bags into the mercenaries strong hold. Each bag contained animal faeces charged with stun grenades and Neural sleeping gasses.

One enemy commander woke up in orbit with a tattoo across his forehead that read:

"I lost my shite fight, to justice."

Their beginning was strange, Their crew was stranger, But their cause was always clear.

They were the ones who came when no one else would. for they, were The Zone Warriors.
